Pretty Reckless

Pretty Reckless

Original abstract painting by Desireé Miriah

Some things are beautiful because they’re perfectly put together. Others are beautiful because they’re not.

Pretty Reckless is an exploration of contrast: softness and grit, intention and impulse, femininity and a little bit of rebellion. Layers of acrylic, house paint, and plaster build a heavily textured surface, while loose white gestures move across the canvas, cutting through the darker tones and breaking up the blush pink.

The vivid pink edges offer a final unexpected detail, carrying the color beyond the surface and giving the work a presence from every angle.

This piece isn’t interested in being perfectly behaved. It’s expressive, imperfect, and unapologetically itself.
