In this 48″×24″ vertical painting, I immerse the viewer in a landscape of concealed tension and revealed energy. I begin by bathing the canvas in rich magenta underlayers, then introduce bold streaks of cobalt blue and slivers of metallic silver. With palette knives, custom blades and coarse brushes, I scrape through the rose-hued surface to expose fissures of color beneath—like geological fault lines laid bare.
The interplay between the broad fields of warm pink and the jagged blue rifts suggests moments of calm interrupted by sudden shifts—emotional tremors breaking through our everyday facades. As light moves across the silver-leafed shards, the work seems to breathe and change, inviting new discoveries at each glance. “Cobalt Fault Lines” asks us to consider what lies beneath our composed exteriors, reminding us that beneath stability often runs a network of hidden fractures waiting to catch the light.
